… for someone who has systemic lupus erythematosus? Do you know of any homeopathic or natural pain relief creams or oils that are effective for people with joint and muscle pain? Thanks for any helpful info.
Thanks, Laura. Which product is the strongest or has more of the active ingredient?
Thanks, Charles. The pain relief is for a family member and the heart break relief is for me…if I can find something that works. Two for the price of one.

Chosen Answer:

Here are a few sites that can help you,, they are all medical sites, and free. I hope you find some relief. You have the right way of looking at it,, pain management,, that’s the best you can hope for.

http://health.discovery.com/centers/pain/pain.html

http://www1.wfubmc.edu/neuro/Diseases+and+Conditions/PainControl.htm

This is a good article that may help you

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chronic-pain/AR00017

http://health.discovery.com/centers/althealth/althealth.html

And here is one other that may interest you

http://pain.org

There is a product called BioFreeze which you can buy at places like Wal-Mart that is about the best OTC product you can get

I’m a pain management patient for chronic pain due to a spine injury and I use all the sites I gave you links for

I’m on vicodin & tramadol, how long should i wait to take tramadol, two 50mg pills, after i take my vicodin, 10 mgs?

Chosen Answer:

The doctor that prescribed that should be sued. When you take both, even hours apart, you get some mean respiratory depression. 100mg of tramadol on top of vicodin is a classic setup for heavy breathing. You’ll also feel like its hard to swallow. This might not happen the first or second time, but it will eventually happen, especially if your doses are too close together. Call the pharmacy and ask. I’m not making this stuff up. I have taken both, but I’m a Tramadol fan. That’s all I will take.

I have a real bad one, like really tight above my eyes what is the best pain relief ?

Chosen Answer:

A migraine headache can cause intense throbbing or pulsing in one area of the head and is commonly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can cause significant pain for hours to days and be so severe that all you can think about is finding a dark, quiet place to lie down.

Some migraines are preceded or accompanied by sensory warning symptoms (aura), such as flashes of light, blind spots or tingling in your arm or leg.

Medications can help reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. If treatment hasn’t worked for you in the past, talk to your doctor about trying a different migraine headache medication. The right medicines, combined with self-help remedies and lifestyle changes, may make a tremendous difference.

If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help. Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, please try. Please try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief. If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER, sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

If it is acute please search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds. For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

I play football and work out. I have practice every day. witch over the counter pain pills will work the best. I have tried Ibuprofen (Advil) and it works pretty good. but what about Tylenol or any other pain pills. I am 140 pounds how much can I take. I have always followed the labels and I don’t plan not to but I am just wondering.
I do not take meds every day olny about 2-4 a week

Chosen Answer:

You can take up to 800 mg of Ibuprofen at a time every 6 to 8 hours. Naproxin may help, you take 2 at first and then 1 more as needed every 8 hours. And for tylenol you should only take 2 500 mg tablets at a time, about every six hours. Sometimes alternating between the three works the best, then your body doesn’t build up a tolerance to any of them.

Say you see a pain management doctor (in Alabama) and you’re legit, not a junkie, and he writes you a Rx for XYZ. Then you go see an urologist and he writes you the same Rx for your kidney stones that your pain management doctor writes. Minus all the insurance stuff, is there an actual way for the pain management doctor to see that your urologist wrote you that same Rx? I don’t want to get in trouble here.

Chosen Answer:

It depends. In many states now – including where I am – we have some form of prescription monitoring via the internet. I can tell what narcotic prescriptions have been filled by what pharmacy, what doctor and when on anybody that I see. This – so far – is only state by state. Soon we will be able to check nationally as well.

So the short answer is “yes” – your pain doctor can possibly tell.

Here’s another point, though….every single Pain Management Clinic (that is legitimate, that is) had you sign a Pain Management Contract on your first visit. These are all pretty uniform. Somewhere in there it states that you will ONLY get narcotic pain medications from THEM and no one else – FOR ANY REASON. Amongst many other things – no early refills, no “smoeone stole my meds” excuses, etc. If this is the case – you have violated your contract and COULD be released by the clinic.

If you are totally legit – as you claim – and innocently got the script, I would tell the Pain doctor IMMEDIATELY.

Besides – why did you accept the script from the Urologist in the first place? Didn’t you say: “hey, wait a minute, I already have this same medicine from my Pain doctor?”
pain relief when giving birth ?

Chosen Answer:

There are a few options…
Tens
Epidural
Entonox(gas and air)
And pain killing injections-Diamorphine, Pethidine and Meptazinol.

I had pethidine in the 1st stages of labour with my eldest and it helped. Ended up having to have an epidural for an emergency c-section in the end though. The epidural wasn’t as scary or as painful as I thought it was going to be though. I hardly felt it…Probably exhaustion and nerves! lol

My cousin had Meptazinol when she had her baby and she said she can’t remember much of the birth.

Hope I’ve helped…Good luck chick x
and i don’t actually need them, i would get a high feeling right?
what would happen?

and would it make a big difference in the effectiveness if i only took one?

Chosen Answer:

I was addicted to tramadol for about 1 year along with other pain meds. Yes taking about 3-5 trams at once will get you high. 2 might get you a little bit? But yes tramadol is a synthetic not an actual opait but it gives the same effects as a opiat would. I used to take about 20 of those a day throughout the day. It is not fun coming off so dont take them to much. I had to go to detox and come off with methadone. Now I am on suboxone maitnance. But they do get you high
